Two Kinds of Courage

Lion from the Wizard of OzCourage is often interpreted to mean getting together the wherewithal to do that (probably crazy) thing you’ve been thinking about doing. Bungee jumping, skydiving, quitting your job, asking that hottie in the corner out, demanding a raise. You get my drift.

There’s another kind of courage, the courage to be. Courage to be who you are, not necessarily in a dramatic flash of action, but quite often against a tide of suggestions to be otherwise. Courage to embrace your intuition and trust a feeling you cannot prove mathematically. Courage, in some cases, to be still and not in action and to trust that you will know when it is time to act, to decide, to change.

These courages correspond with the Being and the Daring I write about so often. Today, I invite you to wade into whichever one you are less comfortable with.
